No need to check Myspace for updates: a release from the Dischord Records office confirms that new Fugazi music is on the way! Well, new old Fugazi music, that is.

Sometime this year, Dischord will release the seminal post-hardcore band’s first demo, which was previously only “dubbed to cassette tape and distributed free at shows, with the band encouraging people to share the recording.” According to Dischord, the demos were recorded at Inner Ear Studio in January of 1988 after the band had only played ten shows.

The 11-song demo features only one track that’s been properly released, “In Defense of Humans,” which appeared on the State of the Union compilation 1989. The songs have since been remastered by TJ Lipple and will be available on CD, LP, and Mp3 later this year.
