Uber DC will donate $1 per ride until September 28 to five charities. Call it what you will — a goodwill mission or a PR stunt — it’s money in the pockets of some great organizations.

Riders can only select one charity to support for the rest of the month and must use a promo code. Here are the organizations: Best Buddies (Buddies), Fight For Children (Fight), Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (Iava), National Park Foundation (Natparks) and So Others Might Eat (Some).

The organization with the most support will receive an additional $10,000. Rides taken through UberTaxi are not eligible for the promotion.
