Tonight, the Washington football team will attempt to not disappoint you again as they face the Seattle Seahawks in Monday night football.
But before the team takes the field, they’ll undoubtedly disappoint motorists unfortunate enough to be heading toward the direction of FedEx Field for their evening commutes. Prince George’s County officials are already warning drivers that the game will likely cause a commuting nightmare. On the PGPD’s Facebook page, they warn drivers to avoid the 495 corridor before and after the game:
The Washington [football team] are hoping to ground the Seattle Seahawks tonight at FedEx Field. But we don’t want you to be grounded by traffic if you are headed to the game. PGPD will offer real-time traffic updates to fans and area commuters tonight. Follow us on Twitter as we tweet out live traffic information. Follow our #Gametime updates at @PGPDNews.
For commuters who are not headed to the game, please try to avoid the 495 corridor near the stadium before the game begins (8:30 pm) and after it ends (approximately 11:30 pm). GO WASHINGTON!! #HTTR
Additionally, the PGPD are encouraging drivers not headed to FedEx Field to avoid using 495 if possible and finding alternate routes. Basically, Godspeed motorists headed in that direction this evening. May the force be with you.
