If you thought the “cronut” craze was over, you were wrong. Dead wrong.
In their attempt to cash in on the recent Dr. Moreau-like obsession with combining two different foods into one, Dunkin’ Donuts have created their own “cronut”-like concoction accurately called the “Croissant Donut”—a “delicate and flaky croissant ring that is glazed like a donut.”
And if you’re dying to try one, you’re in luck because Dunkin’ Donuts is bringing a “sampling vehicle” to D.C. tomorrow for people to try it for free. Well, Arlington, which isn’t D.C., but Dunkin’ Donuts thinks it is.
From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. tomorrow, the “sampling vehicle” will be giving out free Croissant Donuts, as well as free dark roast coffee at the corner of Wilson Street and Fort Myer Drive in Arlington, Va.
And if you can’t make it, we’re pretty sure Heller’s still sells “croughnuts,” if you really need your fake cronut fix. They’ll run you $2.75 though.
