After months of delays, Rise Bakery will officially open tomorrow in Adams Morgan, serving gluten-free pastries, bread and bagels. Yes, bagels.

“I’m so excited to finally be opening,” owner Mike Koritko said by phone today. With the additional time, Rise expanded its concept beyond pastries to offer bread, rolls and vegan bagels. These will be used to create breakfast and lunch options, like sandwiches and a ham and cheese croissant.

In addition to food, Rise will serve a rotating selection of single-origin coffee from Ceremony Roasters. The space on 18th Street NW features four tables near the front window.

Koritko said they’ve heard from people “every single day” about the bakery.

“People actually come in,” Koritkov said. “It’s really cool to see they’re excited.”

Rise Bakery (2409 18th Street NW) will open tomorrow at 10 a.m. It will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
