RightRides, a service offered by an anti-sexual harassment and assault organization, will once again offer free trips home to women and LGBT individuals on New Year’s Day.

Rides from Collective Action for Safe Spaces will be available on January 1, 2015, from midnight to 4 a.m. The service launched on Halloween, with three volunteer teams providing rides for 20 people.

The service area was restricted in October. This time, all of Northeast and Northwest D.C. will be served. “We plan on expanding to Southeast and Southwest by the next service date,” according to CASS’s Zosia Sztykowski. “That’s one way that we’re increasing our impact. Another way is by running the service for half an hour longer with five cars instead of three this time, as long as more volunteers sign up to fill them.”

Indeed, CASS is again looking for volunteers to serve as dispatchers, drivers and navigators.
