In solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement—the nationwide demonstrations against police impunity and violence sparked by the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and other black males at the hands of white police officers—D.C. Council and Executive Office of the Mayor staff members will stage a walk out tomorrow morning.
According to a release, the walk-out “is inspired by the thousands of students, workers, congressional staff and others who have walked out in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter advocating for police accountability over the past months.” It’ll happen at 9:15 a.m. tomorrow on the front steps of the Wilson Building.
