Activists are trying to make D.C. a more green city, and no, not by continuing to fight Congress on marijuana legalization.

Local agency Casey Trees—a non-profit fighting to protect and enhance the city’s tree canopy—announced today that they’re to plant 650 new trees in the city this Spring This, of course, tops their fall tree-planting blitz, which saw 560 new trees planted throughout the District.

This spring’s planting frenzy will take place between March 7 and May 16, with Casey Trees staff and volunteers planing more than 650 trees across 22 sites in D.C. The most noteworthy locations being the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Park View and the Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School in Shaw, which will add nearly 30 trees to the school’s campus.
