If the fresh snow inspired you to go sledding tonight, that’s great! Just make sure to not do it on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. These kids had to learn that the hard way:
A DCist reader emailed us that bunch of kids were busted by a U.S. Capitol police officer for trying to sled on Capitol Grounds today. In case you weren’t aware, now you know: You’re not allowed to sled on Capitol Grounds. Thanks, Obama.
According to the Architect of the Capitol regulations “no person shall coast or slide a sled within Capitol Grounds.” There is of course an exception: If you get a waiver from Congress (good luck), or in the rare case that Congress allows sledding to happen. That, of course, happened during the Snowpocalypse of 2009/2010:

Of course, kids, you can always start a massive snowball fight on the National Mall. Oh wait, nevermind. That’s been co-opted by grown adults. Sorry, no fun for you.
