The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday in Southeast D.C., the third one this week.
According to the MPD, members of the Seventh District were flagged down at about 7:10 p.m. by residents who reported hearing the sounds of gunshots. After canvassing the area, officers found an adult male in the 500 block of Parkland Place SE suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
On Monday, police responded to two fatal shootings about four miles apart from each other in Southeast. One of the victims was a 16-year-old boy.
