D.C. police are currently investigating a shooting death that occurred in Southeast yesterday, near St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers in the Seventh District received reports of a shooting in the 3600 block of 22nd Street SE at approximately 12:54 p.m. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries. The decedent has been identified as 32-year-old Nathaniel Brooks.

Police are currently asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation and offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call (202) 727-9099 or submit an anonymous tip via text to 50411.
