With more than 900,000 Washington-area residents estimated to be traveling out of town, things were kind of quiet around here over the weekend—at least in neighborhood spots. Downtown was a different story, though, with Rolling Thunder and the Memorial Day Parade drawing thousands of spectators to the sunny streets.
Just a week after the deadly brawl in Texas, Rolling Thunder’s annual motorcycle rally went off without major event. The ride, which goes from the Pentagon to the National Mall, has taken place every year since 1988. Organizers estimate that more than a million people came out this year.
Per usual, local photographers contributed some amazing shots to the Flickr pool.
