Update: Metro reports that the disabled train has been offloaded at Grosvenor. Red Line rains are continuing to single-track around the obstruction.
Original:
Because an idiot pulling the emergency brake after he missed his stop wasn’t enough to ruin Metro commuters’ week, riders are now reporting that a Red Line train has hit poles on the tracks between Grosvenor and Medical Center.
Metro is reporting a “track obstruction,” but has not responded to request for comment. Service was initially suspended at the two stations, but they are now single tracking, according to the transit agency. Expect delays.
Riders stuck on the train report that they’ve been told that they will backtrack to Grosvenor once an inspection is complete. They say the front train car has been damaged.
