Delays on Metro’s Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines this morning were caused not by a cracked rail or a faulty switch, but because of a perceived threat involving a bomb near L’Enfant Plaza.

According to Metro spokesperson Sherri Ly, at approximately 9 a.m. Metro Transit Police responded to a Silver Line train at the L’Enfant Plaza because of reports of train graffiti that mentioned a bomb.

The train was offloaded and inspected by a K9, but nothing was found. The inspection resulted in a ten-minute delay for riders, Ly says.
