While on WAMU’s The Politics Hour, Mayor Muriel Bowser finally gave us a deadline as to when the streetcar will begin passenger service: by the end of the year.

Her answer didn’t come without some hesitation, though. She first just said it would be “soon,” but when pressed said that by the end of the first of her administration, she’ll be riding the streetcar.

No, that strange sense of déjà vu you’re experiencing isn’t just you. It was almost a year ago when outgoing mayor Vince Gray also claimed the streetcar would be running by the end of the year. And, well, yeah, here we are.
