Goodbye! (Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office)
Authorities announced today that they raided lush fields filled with towering marijuana plants on an abandoned 15-acre property in Chesterville, Maryland. They carted away truckloads of the green stuff that they say would have commanded $1.45 million on the streets or, say, out of the back of Mr. Kush God’s cars.
Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office along with other state and local agencies conducted the raid on the Eastern Shore property in August, but authorities only announced it today, according to the Washington Post. They also released these stunning photos for us to admire:

Maryland State Police troopers were the first ones to notice that herb was growing on the abandoned property. Investigators kept an eye on the house for months, but no one seemed to be home, aside from a pit bull guarding the property. Finally, local law enforcement raided the home on Aug. 20. In the basement, they found a space where someone would plant and nurture seedlings before transferring them outside.
They found 714 plants between six and 10-feet tall—all healthy thanks to a homemade irrigation and fertilizer system. The plants were an “exotic” variety just a few weeks away from being harvested, police said. Investigators had to borrow a backhoe from a neighboring farm to get to it all.
Authorities say they have some “strong leads” in the case but no arrests.
As for the pit bull, the dog went to an animal shelter and has already been adopted out.
Meanwhile, the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force has a pretty sweet badge that will probably command a lot of money from stoners on eBay once weed is legal:
