Hot on the heels of Uber POOL’s launch in D.C., and a few months after Split began offering rides in D.C. starting at just $2, Lyft is joining the fray of shared ride services.

Lyft Line will launch on November 19, making the District the sixth city where it offers the service. It first launched in San Francisco last year, and more than half of the rides in both San Francisco and New York City are on Lyft Line, the company says.

They also tout rides that are 60 percent cheaper than a regular Lyft trip. And at launch, the fuzzy-pink-mustache-free company will offers a 35 percent discount on the new service in a zone that stretches from Columbia Heights to the Southwest Waterfront from 5 a.m. on Monday to 5 p.m. on Friday.
