An X2 Metrobus hit a streetcar this afternoon, according to WMATA.
The accident happened at H and 7th Streets NE at 12:16 p.m. The Metrobus was traveling eastbound in the left lane on H St. when a car stopped suddenly in its path, WMATA said. To avoid a collision with the car, the bus operator swerved to the right and the accordion portion of the bus hit the mirror of a streetcar traveling in the right lane.
The bus and the streetcar received minor damage. Of course the streetcar is still in testing phase and wasn’t carrying passengers. WMATA couldn’t report how many people were on the X2, however, they said there were no injuries.
It comes a little more than one month after the streetcar hit a parked police vehicle.
