In the latest news about D.C.’s incredibly expensive housing: Condos at Woodley Park’s historic Wardman Tower are selling for way more than those $2 million luxury homes.
The tower’s “lavish restoration” will feature 32 units, according to real estate marketing and consulting firm, McWilliams and Ballard.
The most expensive is $9 million for 4,600 square feet—or $1,956 per square foot. According to Urban Turf, which first reported the story, that may set a new record for high-end condos.
Two-bedroom homes at 2,200 square feet start at $3 million. There are two, three, and four bedroom units available, in addition to the pentouse. They’ll be available in the spring of 2016.
Real estate developer Harry Wardman built the residences in 1928, and according to McWilliams and Ballard, the tower is Wardman’s “most iconic building,” helping him to establish his “storied legacy” in D.C.
Wardman is also known for the Wardman Park, the Hay-Adams, the Jefferson, and St. Regis hotels in D.C.
The complex’s amenities include “a 2,000-square-foot fitness center and yoga studio, a resident library and lounge area with a private garden, at least two parking spaces per residence, and a 24-hour concierge that will cater to every resident’s whim,” Urban Turf reported.
