The Department of Human Services issued a hypothermia alert last night for the first time this season, and it remains on today with temperatures in the 30s and a wind chill in the 20s.

The District issues a hypothermia alert when the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is 32 degrees or below. The high for today is expected to reach 44, with wind gusts up to 22 mph, and the mercury will drop down to a low of 31 tonight.
