Got dirty dishes piling up in your sink? Hankering for a theatrical performance without leaving your living room? What if I told you that, this January, you could kill two birds with one stone?

Prolific D.C.-based performance artist Brian Feldman is bringing back Dishwasher. As I described in my profile of Feldman this summer, this is what the show entails:

For the first act, Feldman washes your dishes. You can watch him or you can spend that time catching up on emails, clipping your toenails, or doing whatever else your heart desires. He says the longest he spent washing was for the people at The Washington Post, where he stayed at the sink for an hour and a half as his audience members piled more and more dishes on top.

Once he dispenses with the dishes, he performs a monologue of your choosing. That’s Act Two. At the end, he asks the audience whether he’s a better dishwasher or actor.

After a string of sold-out performances of Dishwasher at Capital Fringe this summer, where he earned an extended run, Feldman took the show on the road to Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Orlando.

Now he’s bringing the show back to the D.C. area, with 31 tickets (one for each day) available in total. While he’ll only do one performance per day, you can pile as many dishes in the sink or people in your home as you’d like. You just need to live within 5 miles of a Metro stop.

If you need your Feldman fix before 2016 starts, he is still performing #BFFDC every day at 6 p.m.

Dishwasher will return to the D.C. area from January 1 to 31. Tickets are $30, or $25 for people with a Capital Fringe button. After purchasing your ticket, you’ll hear from Feldman to discuss possible showtimes over email. If no ticket is purchased by 6 p.m., there is no show that day.
