As the weather warms up, folks in NoMa will have to find another spot to grab a frozen treat today. A car crashed into the Dolcezza Gelato Factory on Penn Avenue NE this morning.
D.C. Police received a call about the incident around 5:43 a.m., according to MPD spokesperson Aquita Brown. Property damage has been reported, Brown says, but the accident is still under investigation.
The driver, who may have been sleep behind the wheel, sustained scratches and bruises and was taken to Howard University Hospital, according to Fox5. No one inside the building was hurt.

This is the second time a vehicle crashed into the ice cream shop this year. In January, an SUV broke through its doors in an accident that left four people injured. The shop, which also houses a “coffee lab,” opened in 2014.
