D.C.’s cherry blossom trees reached full bloom last week and, yet again, people are coming out in droves to snap photos.
While some folks at the Tidal Basin are showing pics of themselves in flowery outfits, others attempt to get creative with photos of the blossoms. The one below uses a double exposure (created in-camera, no photoshop) to capture a weird angel-like figure. “Each year I try to take different photos than the typical blossoms at the tidal basin,” Paul Sirajuddin said on flickr.

But in most photos, people are capturing stunning shots of the cherry trees with the National Mall’s memorials and the Potomac River as backdrops.
Due to weather conditions, petals are already falling from the cherry trees, likely making the peak bloom period shorter this year. If you can’t make your way to the Tidal Basin soon, you can check out PBS’s video that gives you a 360 degree view of the trees as the sun rose above them on Friday.
