It’s time to laugh it up. Last week, the District got a brand new comedy venue. This week, the first-ever 202 Comedy Festival kicks off. It opens today and runs through the weekend, with 18 shows and more than a hundred acts.

While most of the shows will feature comedians spewing whatever they want, others have themes such as summer camp experiences and terrible music from your high school days. And more creatively, the Specific Ignorance show, which is in the vein of British game shows, will let audiences try to “stump the experts on the panel.”

Venues include bars, a Mexican restaurant, and even a hair salon in D.C.; Northern Virginians can catch a laugh in Arlington.

The festival culminates with The Big Show on April 16 at the Black Cat featuring Seaton Smith from FOX’s “Mulaney,” Jermaine Fowler from Showtime’s “Give ‘Em Hell Kid”, and more. Earlier that day, folks can catch the Drunk v. High Stand-Off competition, Underground Saturday show, and live podcast recording of You, Me, Them, Everybody. And when those are done, there’s the obligatory after party show.
