A celebrated restaurateur is bringing a James Beard Award—one of the industry’s highest honors—home to the District. Aaron Silverman, owner/chef of Rose’s Luxury, won the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic award last night at a ceremony in Chicago.
Silverman beat out Arlington’s Peter Chang, as well as three others from Philadelphia and one from Baltimore.
As a newcomer to Barrack’s Row in 2013, Rose Luxury brought a comfy mix of old and new with a creative menu of share plates. The tiny gem has become a famously long-lined dining spot, earning the title of best restaurant in the country from Bon Appetit Magazine in 2014, among other recognition.
Earlier this year, Silverman also opened the $250 culinary experience that is Pineapples and Pearls.
