Original: The flaming mess otherwise known as Metro has struck again. Amid another smoke incident—this time at Federal Center SW—service on the Orange, Blue and Silver lines is suspended between Eastern Market and L’Enfant Plaza.
Wmata is setting up a Metrobus shuttle service between the two stations. And Capitol South and Eastern Market are closed entirely.
Metro Transit Police and the D.C. Fire Department are on the scene at Federal Center, and no injuries have been reported.

Metro recommends traveling on one of the three other lines, or to expect “significant delays.” Commuters report crowds, desperation, and a desire for a military takeover of the system.

Metro is planning to announce a major maintenance plan tomorrow morning, which is likely to will include months of maintenance and service disruptions on every rail line, with the exception of new Silver Line tracks
