Downtowners are rebounding from the holiday weekend with free java today. Compass Coffee has opened its Chinatown location at 650 F Street NW. To celebrate its third shop in the District, the coffee purveyor known for its nitrogen infused coffee and Made in DC branding is giving away complimentary cups of coffee all day long.

Co-owners and former marines Michael Haft and Harrison Suarez opened their first shop and roastery in Shaw in 2014, followed by another Shaw location a year later. The partners are now working to open a second roastery in Ivy City later this year.
