It’s raining cats and dogs at the Washington Humane Society-Washington Animal Rescue League. In an effort to jumpstart more adoptions, the organization is slashing adoption fees by half on Saturday and Sunday.
“Our animal population has more than doubled since WHS and WARL came together in February,” said Lauren Lipsey, director of rehoming for WHS-WARL, in a release. “We have more than 150 animals waiting in our adoption centers and foster homes.” Lipsey notes this is the first time the organization is in “critical need” of adoptive homes since the two groups merged.
Here’s what the slashed fees will look like:

The animals are waiting at WHS-WARL’s two adoption centers, located at 71 Oglethorpe NW and 1201 New York Avenue NE. Just think of all the black-tie options for your new best friend.
