The Fairfax County Police Department is trying to pin some ATM thieves. Between July 18 and July 20, police received five reports involving money machines being taken out of local businesses. Yesterday, the department released surveillance footage of one of the incidents, in which two suspects are shown prying an ATM machine from a wall in the rear of a store.

After about 30 seconds of pulling and kicking the machine, breaking some of its pieces, the men take it from the wall, slide it out of the store, and put it into a white van.

The incidents took place in the Franconia, Mount Vernon, Mason, and Sully police districts, according to the release. In each case, the suspects used stolen vehicles to carry the stolen machines in the early morning hours. After each theft, they abandoned the vehicle nearby, then fled the area.

And in all cases, the suspects were described as black, approximately 175 to 200 pounds, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. They wore dark-colored clothes and covered their faces.
