>> The Potter’s House continues its monthly jazz series on Thursday with a performance from drummer Abinnet Berhanu and his band, Hebret Musica. 7 to 9 p.m. No cover.

>> The Stooges Brass Band is now considered among the top brass bands in New Orleans. The ensemble will be at The Hamilton on Thursday with the DJ Williams Projekt opening. 7:30 p.m. Tickets $15-$20.

>> The Petworth Jazz Project‘s summer series continues on Saturday with headliner and vocalist Lena Seikaly. Baba Ras D will open with a performance aimed at the kiddos. 6 to 8:30 p.m. Free.

>> Drop Electric is a local band that’s been working the local scene for more than a decade. They will headline an all-local bill on Saturday at 9:30 Club that includes the experimental guitar/cello duo, Janel & Anthony. 8 p.m. doors. Tickets $15.
