Howard University apparently now has a particularly famous freshman in its class of 2020. On Sunday, Nick Cannon posted a photo on social media of the beginning of his collegiate experience at the historically black college.

The actor/writer/producer/rapper/Mariah Carey ex wrote “I’m ready” on a post that quotes Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” He also gave a shoutout to D.C. in a So Gone challenge Instagram video, saying “now you can catch me up at Howard getting my college degree.”

He’s played the part of an HBCU student before—fun fact, Drumline came out 14(!) years ago—but this time it seems to be for real.

Cannon joins an extensive list of entertainers who attended Howard, including Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Phylicia Rashād, and Taraji P. Henson, among others.
