In late June, the National Zoo welcomed the first sea lion pup born at the facility in 32 years. Now, visitors can meet Catalina on the American Trail exhibit.
Calli, the pup’s mother, introduced her to the zoo’s other sea lions—Sidney, Summer, and Jetty (Catalina’s dad)—and the kid has been getting used to the exhibit since this Monday, according to the zoo.
For the first bit of her life, Catalina spent her time bonding with her mom off-exhibit. She was not invited to the panda birthday party last weekend.
