Metrorail riders should plan to wait any where between 8 to 24 minutes for trains this weekend.
With another week of Safetrack’s ninth surge in store, Orange Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between West Falls Church and New Carrollton and every 24 minutes between Vienna and West Falls Church. Meanwhile, Silver, Blue, Yellow and Green Line trains will run every 20 minutes, and Red Line trains will operate every 8 to 16 minutes.
Red Line
Trains every 8-16 minutes | 10:00 p.m. Friday until Closing Sunday
Single tracking between Grosvenor & Twinbrook to allow for concrete column repair.
Red Line trains will operate:
Between Shady Grove & Glenmont: every 16 minutes.
Between Grosvenor & Silver Spring: every 8-10 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Orange Line
Trains every 20-24 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between Vienna & West Falls Church to allow for SafeTrack Surge 9
Orange Line trains will operate:
- Between Vienna & West Falls Church: every 24 minutes.
- Between West Falls Church & New Carrollton: every 20 minutes.
Silver Line
Trains every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East & Largo Town Center | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday
Silver Line trains will operate every 20 minutes to coordinate with rebuilding on the Orange and Blue lines.
Friday and Saturday 8:00 p.m. to close Single tracking between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road to allow for communication cable installation. All trains will board on the Largo Town Center platform.
Yellow Line
Trains every 20 minutes between Huntington & Fort Totten | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between Pentagon City & L’Enfant Plaza to allow for emergency call box and blue light replacement.
Green Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday
Green Line trains will operate every 20 minutes to coordinate with rebuilding on the Yellow and Blue Lines.
