Update: The Metrobus driver has been charged with failure to pay time and attention while operating a vehicle and failure to yield right of way.

A chartered school bus was involved in a crash with a G8 Metrobus this afternoon on Eastern Avenue and Randolph Street NE.
D.C. Fire and EMS officials say as many as 25 children on the school bus may require transport to the hospital via an ambulance bus. Five adults have refused treatment.
EMS personnel from both D.C. and Prince George’s County are on scene. So far injuries have been reported as minor in nature. Hazmat crews have also been requested for leaking fuel.
The call for help was received around 4:28 p.m. by Prince George’s County 9-1-1 center. The 4000 block of Eastern Ave remains blocked.
