Safetrack’s tenth surge begins on Saturday, and with it comes the closure of Rhode Island Avenue and Brookland stations. At a press conference yesterday, Metro General Manager Paul Wiedefeld encouraged Red Line passengers to take free shuttle buses between NoMa-Gallaudet and Fort Totten stations, Green or Yellow Line trains to connect throughout the system, or use different forms of transportation altogether.

Elsewhere on Metrorail, Blue and Silver Line trains will be single tracking from Friday until 8 p.m. on Saturday as workers install communication cables. And Orange, Yellow, and Green line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals.
