Police have arrested a man who they allege hit a woman’s car, dragged her out of it, and then sexually assaulted her in a ditch for hours.

The incident took place on October 31 along Kings Highway (Route 3) in Stafford, Virginia— and 60 miles from D.C.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Roberto Flores Sibrian. The 26-year-old of no fixed address was found yesterday at a construction site in Sanford, North Carolina.

Police say Sibrian’s SUV struck the young woman’s car around 2:45 a.m. He then “forcibly removed the victim from her vehicle and dragged her into a ditch off the roadway where he sexually assaulted her over a two hour period.”

After he left, the woman walked back to her car and called the police. Officials released a sketch of the suspect and received about 100 leads from the public.

Sibrian has been charged with rape and aggravated sexual battery and is being detained on a $100,000 secured bond and a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

The investigation is ongoing.
