Ride-hailing company Lyft has announced its “Lyftie Awards” winners, giving us a glimpse into where local users went most often (at least via Lyft) for dinner, drinks, entertainment, and more in the D.C. region this year.
Founding Farmers continues to prove that a scathing review can’t dent its popularity as it came out on top as local Lyft riders’ most visited restaurant. According to the venue’s response to Tom Sietsema’s zero-star review in June, it served more than half a million people last year.
Meanwhile, riders also ventured to Arlington for Don Tito, which received the company’s award for most visited bar.
The most frequented event venue among was The Kennedy Center, where Wicked is currently making a stop. And among transportation destinations, riders transferred to Union Station most often.
In it’s “only in D.C.” category, Lyft found that Union Market—which saw the opening of a nearby beer garden, relaunched its drive-in movie series, hosted pop-up attractions, and offered new food options, among other things this year—took the cake.
And the award for Lyft’s most “trending destination” in D.C. goes to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened in September to acclaim, huge crowds, and clamoring for hard-to-get tickets.
