The National Museum of African American History and Culture released more details about it’s daylong celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.

The NMAAHC launched a “Searchable Museum” this week, translating its archives and stories into an interactive digital experience.

From December 26-30, the NMAAHC will have ticket-free entry and extended hours.

Here’s when you will and won’t need tickets to enter.

The institution suspended its ticketing program on weekdays for the month of September as part of a pilot program to test free entry. Now the timed tickets are back.

“I think it’s really become what we wanted, which was to be a place that was as much about today and tomorrow as it is about yesterday.”

Ruth Odom Bonner, the daughter of a slave, was 100 years old when she passed away in Silver Spring on Friday.

“He symbolized possibility—he symbolized that it was really important that America was changing and his presence was a symbol of that change,” the museum’s director said.

The noose was found on Wednesday inside of the museum’s segregation exhibit, the second on the Mall in a week.
