In September, a home near Embassy Row listed for $14.7 million, and sold that same day for millions less, at $10.4 million. It still took the title of the most expensive home sold in the D.C. region last year, according to MRIS, one of the country’s leading real estate listing services.
MRIS has released its annual list of the most costly homes sold in D.C. and its neighboring Maryland and Virginia suburbs. It counts seven houses in D.C.—all in Northwest. One of the homes is in McLean, Va., another is in Bethesda, and the least expensive home on the list, at $5.4 million, is in Potomac, Md.
Jeff Bezos managed to eclipse them all, spending $23 million to join the Obamas in Kalorama. But then, he bought a former museum rather than a single home.
