Richard Spencer, the white nationalist who the Southern Poverty Law Center described as “a suit-and-tie version of the white supremacists of old, a kind of professional racist in khakis,” was in D.C. for President Trump’s inauguration. When you welcome his election with Nazi salutes and “Hail Trump!”, you make your way to the swamp. So is it any surprise that he was punched in the face while speaking to a news crew?

Wait, no, this is the real video:

Spencer, who coined the phrase “alternative right” and is calling for “peaceful ethnic cleansing,” was trying to claim that neo-Nazis don’t like him when a protester (someone dressed in all black, perhaps a black bloc/anarchist type) clocked him in the face while talking about his Pepe the Frog pin to an Australian news outlet.

Spencer told CNN, “It was absolutely terrible. I’ve certainly never had this happen before — a sucker punch in broad daylight.” That seems… surprising. From CNN:

D.C. police said there is no open investigation into the assault as Spencer has not filed a police report. Spencer says he called 911 at the scene and plans to file a police report. “I kind of like getting into vigorous back and forth with people who disagree with me,” said Spencer. “But punching like that just crosses a line — totally unacceptable.”

He went onto say he feared future targeting, “Certainly, some people think I’m not a human being and I can just be attacked at will.”

Not that we condone violence against hateful people who really deserve the awful things that happen to them, but we will grudgingly watch remixes of Spencer getting punched multiple times:

And wait for it:
