It’s that time of year again when pro-lifers flood the city to demand restrictions on abortion.
Officials are shutting down several stretches of roads tomorrow for the March for Life. At 1 p.m., activists are scheduled to march up Constitution Avenue NW to the Supreme Court and Capitol.
Trump aide Kellyanne Conway is on the speakers list for the 44th annual event, and organizers say she is the “the highest ranking White House official to ever speak at the March.”
Some downtown streets will close as early as 6 a.m., and they are all slated to reopen by 3:30 p.m. In anticipation of large crowds, Metrorail is increasing service during the midday hours so that trains run every 2 to 4 minutes downtown. And some Metrobus routes will detour or shorten due to road closures.
The Metropolitan Police Department and the District Department of Transportation have released the following street closures:
- F Street NW between 6th Street NW and 7th Street NW from 7:00 am to 1:00 p.m.
- Rolling Street Closures on 7th Street NW, from F Street to Jefferson Drive NW starting at approximately 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- USPP will close 15th Street between Independence Avenue and Constitution Ave at approximately 6:00 a.m.
- USPP will close Constitution Ave at 17th Street to 15th Street at approximately 9:00 a.m.
