D.C. Police are searching for a woman who set someone’s hair on fire downtown on Inauguration Day.
The victim told police that someone set her hair on fire during a protest, according to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department. Police say the victim did not sustain any injuries.
A video of the incident shows a group of anti-Trump protesters chanting “Love Trumps hate!” at supporters of the president. Trump fans begin taking photos in front of an anti-Trump protester. When one finishes taking a photo, someone notices that her hair is on fire. The video zooms in on a hand that takes a lighter to the woman’s tresses from somewhere behind the sign.
It happened near the National Archives building on the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW around 2 p.m.
MPD officers say they’ve received numerous tips from the public regarding the case, but detectives have yet to identify the suspect. They have released a photo of the suspect and are asking for further assistance.
