Organizers of the Women’s March have picked a fitting date for a planned general strike: March 8, or International Women’s Day.
“In the spirit of women and their allies coming together for love and liberation, we offer A Day Without A Woman,” the group said today. “We saw what happened when millions of us stood together in January, and now we know that our army of love greatly outnumbers the army of fear, greed and hatred.”
They have not yet released details or specific plans for the day.
Over the next few weeks we will be sharing more information on what actions on March 8th can look like for you. #DayWithoutAWoman

In the meantime, they are expressing solidarity with a strike planned for February 17, which is being organized under the banner of Strike4Democracy.
A Day Without Immigrants is also in the works for February 16 in D.C. and Philadelphia following a recent event in Milwaukee. And a chapter of the Service Employees International Union is planning a national strike for May Day.
