District residents will have to trade in today’s light jackets for winter coats this weekend, according to weather experts who predict the possibility of snow in the city’s forecast.
While we may reach highs in the upper 60s through Thursday, colder temperatures will set in on Friday, the National Weather Service reports. And with that comes a chance of rain and snow before noon on Friday, and more chances for snowfall Saturday night into Sunday.
The Capital Weather Gang doesn’t expect any snow accumulation on Friday because temperatures will be in the 40s to around 50 in the afternoon. But as temperatures drop, meteorologists could be whipping out their measuring sticks by Sunday.
This chilly forecast comes as early signs of spring have appeared throughout the region and local officials look to reallocate unspent money in snow budgets, following a milder-than-normal winter thus far.
And according to a CWG forecast from last week, this weekend’s snowfall won’t shake things up too much as the average temperatures this month will be four to six degrees warmer than normal (the average for March is 46.8 degrees).
