Studies have shown that District residents search online for sex positions and how to spell croissant at a much higher rate than the rest of the country. Now, a new analysis tells us what kind of cars we’re scoping out online.

In the first couple of months of 2017, Washingtonians googled Land Rovers the most, according to the analysis done, randomly enough, by Yonkers Honda in New York. The dealership used Google Trends to search the 32 top car brands in each state (and D.C.) in recent years. After Land Rover, the next highest searches were for Acura and Infinity.

In 2016 (and 2013), we were searching most frequently for Smart Cars, and in 2015 (and 2012), Washingtonians apparently really wanted Acuras.

While traffic congestion throughout the region is often ranked among the country’s worst, driving is still the most popular way to get to work. Forty percent of Washingtonians commute via car, as compared to 39 percent who use public transportation, according data from D.C. Department of Transportation.

Marylanders looking into cars are turning to Audi so far this year, and Virginians are fancying Hondas.

Across the country, searching for Alfa Romeo is on the rise and Smart Cars “seem to be falling out of favor,” says Yonkers Honda spokesperson Nicole Sparks, adding that D.C. is “clearly a little behind the times here.”
