Farragut West, McPherson Square, and the lower level of Metro Center will be closed this weekend as crews continue to install ceiling grids, replace tiles, and install communication cables along tunnel walls.

As an alternative to trains on this segment of the Orange and Blue Lines, Metro is providing riders with free shuttle buses between Federal Triangle and Foggy Bottom.

Greenbelt station will also be closed this weekend as SafeTrack Surge 14 comes to an end. Green Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Branch Avenue and College Park stations. (Surge 15 will shutter New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, and Minnesota Avenue stations from May 16 through June 15.)

To accommodate Surge 14, all Yellow Line trains will operate to and from Mount Vernon Square rather than Fort Totten, so passengers traveling to and from stations north of Mount Vernon Square will have to hop on the Green Line to reach their destinations.

Silver Line passengers may also need an assist. Trains will run every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only, so anyone traveling to and from other stops will have to use Orange and Blue Line trains instead.

Red Line riders are the only folks with no scheduled maintenance work or delays in store this weekend.
