A 74-year-old man has died from injuries suffered during a crash near Bloomingdale on April 28.

Dan Neidhardt was riding his bike on 1st Street NW when he passed through a red light on Florida Avenue NW and collided with a Ford pickup truck, according to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department. The incident took place around 3 p.m.

D.C. fire officials took him to a local hospital, according to police. He died from his injuries on May 10.

Mayor Muriel Bowser said in March that officials are reviewing data that shows where traffic-related incidents have taken place and are identifying streets with potential safety risks to make changes “before those intersection or areas can result in death,” as part of D.C.’s Vision Zero plan to eliminate all traffic-related fatalities and injuries by 2024.

Neidhardt’s incident is still under investigation.
