Barron Trump will apparently be hitting the books at a private school in Potomac, Maryland this fall.

The Daily Caller broke the news on Sunday that the president’s youngest child will attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School after he finally moves to D.C. from New York with the first lady.

The 11-year-old Trump will enroll as a sixth grader at the college preparatory school, which is just over a half hour drive from the White House. The co-ed school educates students from preschool to 12th grade—middle school tuition is $38,590 a year.

Trump currently attends Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on Manhattan’s Upper West Side (to the tune of $46,690 a year).

The first family didn’t want to announce its school choice until summer to avoid potential protests, according to The Washington Post. But after parents at St. Andrew’s heard rumors that Trump would enroll, causing concerns about security, school leaders told them about his admittance in a letter today.

In response, the first lady released a statement saying that she was “very excited” for her son to attend the school, which she praised for its “diverse community and commitment to academic excellence,” according to The Post.

DCist reached out to St. Andrews to confirm Trump’s enrollment, but we’ve yet to receive a response. Officials from the school told The Daily Caller and The Washington Post that St. Andrews “respects family privacy” and won’t comment on specific students.

Trump will be the first presidential child to attend St. Andrews.

Malia Obama graduated from Sidwell Friends last year and Sasha is currently a student at the school (which is why the Obamas still live in the District). Chelsea Clinton and Tricia and Julie Nixon also attended Sidwell Friends. President Gerald Ford’s daughter, Susan, attended the all-girls private school Holton-Arms School in Bethesda.

And President Jimmy Carter’s daughter, Amy, is the only first kid to attend D.C. public schools in recent decades—Stevens Elementary School and Rose Hardy Middle School.

Another Trump child will also be attending school in the area this fall—Tiffany will be studying at Georgetown Law School.
