With hundreds of thousands of people expected in D.C. for Capital Pride (and alternative pride) festivities, Metro announced last week that most of this weekend’s scheduled maintenance projects will be axed.
SafeTrack, however, must go on. And the 15th surge of yearlong maintenance plan will impact the Orange and Silver Lines, including the continued closure of New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, and Minnesota Avenue stations. (Once the 15th surge ends, there is one more round of maintenance before SafeTrack officially ends on June 25.)
Trains will run every 12 to 15 minutes on the Orange Line between Vienna and Largo Town Center, as well as on the Silver Line between Wiehle-Reston East and Stadium-Armory only. Passengers traveling beyond Stadium-Armory on the Silver Line will have to hop on the Blue Line to complete their trips.
Elsewhere on Metrorail, trains will run at regular weekend intervals.
