After a delayed arrival, First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron are finally moving into the White House next week, according to Politico.

Sources told the news outlet that the two will move in on June 14.

The first lady’s parents, who live at her current residence at the Trump Tower in New York, will be showing up in the District more to help care for 11-year-old Barron, Politico reports. But they won’t be moving into the presidential mansion.

On the heels of rumors that Mrs. Trump would never move to Washington, a senior White House advisor told reporters in February that she was waiting until Barron finished up his school year. It costs the New York Police Department between $127,000 and $146,000 per day to guard Trump Tower as Melania and Barron Trump live there.

This fall, Barron is slated to hit the books at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, a private school in Potomac, Maryland.

President Trump’s daughter Tiffany is also coming to Washington to study law at Georgetown this fall. His other daughter, Ivanka, who works as an adviser in the White House, moved to Kalorama with her family.

White House sources told Politico that they hoped the First Lady could help temper her husband, the president.

… in general, people in Trump’s orbit said, the first lady sees the tweets as damaging to her husband and generally tries to advise him toward restraint. And she is occasionally successful. On Trump’s foreign trip, aides credited Melania Trump’s presence, as well as a busier schedule, for his nine-day break from off-message tweets.

Traditionally, presidential spouses choose an issue to focus on during their time at the White House. The First Lady has yet to announce an initiative.
